It was then renamed as Yorkshire Main Colliery Football Club until the pit closure, when it became Yorkshire Main F.C. in 1986.
The early eighties were very rewarding as they became Doncaster Senior League Division 3 Champions in the 1980/81 league season. The following year saw them move to the Sheffield County Senior League Division 2 which they won and also the Doncaster Senior League Cup. The 1982/83 season proved to be even better as they won the County Senior League Division1 Championship and also the County Senior League Cup. In 1983/84 Yorkshire Main decided to join the Northern Counties East Football League but success continued. They won the NCB National League 7 a side championship.
From the end of that season the success faded away bu, Yorkshire Main still managed to run two sides. One continued in the Northern Counties East and the other in the Doncaster Senior League. Due to lack of resources the first team dropped out of the N.C.E. league in 1991 and joined the Whitbread County Senior League. In the 1995/96 season Yorkshire Main got back to winning ways as the second team lifted the Doncaster Senior League Division 2 Championship. With ambitious players and coaching staff at the club it was decided to try and get back to being successful, so Yorkshire Main joined the Central Midlands League in 1998/99 season.
After several seasons without success, in 2005 Yorkshire Main made it to the Doncaster F.A. Challenge Cup Final for the first time in our history, unfortunatley losing in the Final to Hemsworth St. Pats. Also in the same year we were awarded the Football Association Charter Standard Adult Club Award.
In the 2006 the Main maintained their Central Midlands League status after a long relegation battle and once again reached the final of the Doncaster F.A. Challenge Cup. Once again the Main losing, this time to a quality Askern Welfare team.
